DUVALLSTAR: Bio

DUVALLSTAR

Duvallstar is Diva Siobhan DuVall's latest creation. Siobhan is the former guitarist for The Bomshells, Bif Naked, and The Widows (with Billy Hopeless). Known for her pumped up punk rock power pop, Siobhan has played the mainstage at the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival, Sony Playstation Skatespace, and appeared on VH-1 in New York City, along with touring the usual punk rock hotspots up and down the West Coast. Fon Fon also sometimes cops Blondie for the advertising industry ..... but don't tell anyone!!!!! A new record, produced by Vincent Jones, and featuring bass player supreme Martyn LeNoble, will be out early 2008.

DUVALLSTAR

Siobhan's rock life began in 1989, when, after being heavily influenced by Blondie, the Ramones and California hardcore, she formed an all girl band, the Bombshells. A colorful and rambunctious band, specializing primarily in scene stealing and non stop fun, the Bombshells gigged incessantly around Vancouver and toured the U.S., opening for such bands as Nirvana, Tad, Mudhoney, The Screaming Trees, Social Distortion, Sublime and The GooGoo Dolls. After having way too much fun and realizing that democracies don't work, the Bombshells split in 1994.

Siobhan, aka Fon Fon then joined friend Bif Naked's band as guitarist, and toured Canada opening for Moist. Inspired by solo gal Bif, Fon Fon then decided to strike out on her own. She emerged to take on Vancouver with her own brand of power pop, receiving a lot of attention from the local press, due to her catchy sound, energetic shows, and one infamous shiny pink dress.

In a flurry of pink sequins, Siobhan released her first full length record "STAR" in 2001. Live shows, TV appearances, a tour opening for Bif Naked, a sponsorship by Mission Snowboards, and appearances on the mainstage at the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival, and the Ford/Sony Playstation Skatespace Competition soon followed. Siobhan was nominated for Best Female Independent Artist in the Georgia Straight Music Awards, and appeared on VH-1 while in New York City. To date, the album STAR has had over 100,000 legal digital download sales.
